Sassy's new family had AMAZING reference checks! Even their teenage son was brought up in one interview as an avid dog lover. It always warms my heart to see a young person so into animals.
Paula from Sea Dog Rescue completed a home visit for Sassy's new family. They passed with flying colors. Paula felt that they would be an absolute perfect fit for Sassy, and I agreed. Now all that was left was the Meet & Greet.

It was a very bittersweet night for me. I was saying goodbye to a very sweet little girl that had wiggled and kissed her way into our hearts. I was sad to see her go, but seeing her new family light up when they saw her made it much easier to say goodbye.
I gave Sassy a few last snuggles and kisses. I said goodbye to her and her new family. Her new dad even gave us hugs for taking care of her. They were so very nice! Paula and I walked them to their car, said our final goodbyes, and watched them drive away.
That very night, the Sea Dog Rescue Facebook page received a post from Sassy's new brother. He thanked the rescue, told us Sassy was everything he dreamed she would be, and said that she would fit perfectly into their family. I am not exaggerating when I say this brought tears to my eyes. It feels so good being able to help.

Sassy is now a true Sea Dog. She now lives at a bed and breakfast on the beach. Her new dad takes her on daily walks on the beach. She even won over her first few guests at the bed and breakfast. They insisted on saying good bye to Sassy before they left. Sassy is now getting her happily ever after. She will have endless snuggles, pets, and kisses.
I am so happy for her!
